Background

The Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) has been awarded the operation contract for the North District Health Centre Express. This initiative aims to provide primary healthcare services through collaboration between medical and social sectors, enhancing public health self-management and supporting individuals with chronic illnesses across 18 districts.

Aim

The North District Health Centre mobile app is designed to be accessible and user-friendly, enabling efficient access to services like health assessments, event updates, event enrolment, and membership management. An admin portal will facilitate content management, user oversight, notifications, analytics, and event balloting for effective administration and support.

User Pain Points

  • Community members often lack awareness of healthcare services, leading to delayed healthcare-seeking behavior and missed opportunities for early intervention.

Upon logging into the app, users will discover everything they need right on the homepage. This includes shortcuts for entry passes, biometric updates, upcoming events, and the latest news, ensuring that they never miss crucial information and can stay engaged with their health journey effortlessly.

The to-do-list for admin

The admin dashboard features a clear, user-friendly design that displays daily events and bookings based on individual user schedules, ensuring that no important appointments are missed. Additionally, members requiring special health care are listed for easy reference, allowing administrators to provide personalized support and enhance the overall management of health services effectively.

Membership management

Creating new account

A user account is created for members after completing the health assessment with a North DHC nurse. A guest login option is also available for interested individuals not yet registered.

The all-in-one members hub

The admin portal displays all member information, including personal data, appointment records, biometrics, health assessment results, and member tagging. This comprehensive view allows North DHC to efficiently manage and follow up on members' health, ensuring personalized care and effective communication for improved health outcomes.

Courses & Events

All at a glance

All events and courses are displayed in both calendar and list views. With filtering, search, and bookmark functions, users can easily find and select suitable events to join.

Personalized event recommendations

The member tagging feature allows for tailored recommendations of specific events and courses, pushing relevant options to targeted members. This ensures that individuals receive personalized health care opportunities, enhancing their engagement and supporting their unique health needs effectively.

Enroll with one click

Members can enroll in events with just one click. The system auto-fills necessary information, making the process quick and effortless, ensuring a seamless experience for participants eager to engage in activities.

Event entry pass

The member's unique QR code serves as their event entry pass. They can easily check in by displaying the QR code to the staff, streamlining the entry process and ensuring a smooth experience at the event.

Creating new event

Creating courses and events in the admin portal is easy, needing only basic details like date, time, location, and description. Notifications are automatically sent to invite selected target members to participate.

Event balloting

Event balloting allows administrators to select participants based on specific criteria or random selection. Once confirmed, notifications are automatically sent to relevant members, keeping them informed and engaged with upcoming events.

Event list

All events are displayed in a clean list view, featuring filtering, sorting, and search functions, enabling administrators to easily locate specific events and manage them efficiently.

Attendance management

Member attendance is easily tracked using the built-in QR code scanner. Once verified, attendance is recorded, and a comprehensive report is generated post-event, streamlining management and enhancing oversight of attendance.

GYM facilities booking

Making reservation

Members have access to a variety of gym facilities and can check the availability of specific equipment within the app. Once a reservation is made, the booking is confirmed and updated in their schedule, with a reminder sent to ensure members don’t miss their appointment.

Facilities management

All gym facilities can be easily created and managed in the admin portal. Admins simply enter basic information and opening hours for new equipment. They can also view member bookings and attendance for effective facility.

Member’s health care

Updating biometrics data

Members can update their biometric data, including BMI, weight, blood pressure, exercise records, and calorie intake, directly in the app. This information synchronizes with the admin portal, enabling staff to provide personalized health advice and monitor members' progress effectively.

Making health care appointment

Members can schedule one-on-one offline health appointments with DHC nurses through the app. All results and advice provided by the nurses will be accessible in the app for easy follow-up.

Tracking members’ health status

With all members' biometric data synchronized in the admin portal, staff can easily monitor health status and provide tailored advice, suggesting specific events or courses to enhance each member's wellness journey.

Appointment record

All health appointment records are stored online, allowing staff to easily access previous records for follow-up actions and to deliver personalized health advice tailored to each member's needs.

Reward scheme

Health challenges

Various challenges encourage members to take charge of their health. Upon completion, members earn reward points that can be redeemed for prizes and free courses, promoting engagement and motivation.
